Applications typically open in March when the host university releases information. When available, details will be included in your weekly Student News and posted on the faculty .

• Latest academic transcript

• CV

• A short statement on why you wish to be selected and what this opportunity would mean for your graduation (max. 500 words)

• Optional: a short statement on equitable considerations that informs you wish to pursue this opportunity (max. 200 words)

Study costsÌý

As part of our arrangement with the LSGL, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ will pay for the tuition fees of one ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Law & Justice student, plus contribute up to AUD 1,500 towards your airfare or accommodation.

Before going to Oxford, students are required to complete the following:Ìý

• All core courses (for Australian LPAB professional qualification requirements)

• 3 electives (18 UOC)

How and when to apply

Applications open in September for the following year on the Oxford Admissions Website. If your application to Oxford is successful, you must apply for program leave before departure viaÌý

1. Apply to Oxford Admissions:

   - After completing 96 UOC at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ
   - Minimum Distinction WAM required (cut-off set by Oxford*)

2. Departure to Oxford:

   - After completing 120 UOC at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ
   - 24 UOC of electives remaining

3. Complete MLF or BCL at Oxford:

   - One academic year (September to June)
   - Receive 24 UOC credit.

Oxford’s subjects are year-long, so you will complete your JD after finishing the BCL/MLF in June. Ensure you arrange for your Oxford transcript to be sent to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ for credit transfer, as Oxford does not send transcripts back to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ automatically.Ìý

Study costsÌý

Students are responsible for all tuition, travel, and living expenses associated with the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) and Master of Law and FInance (MLF). It’s important to investigate these costs early to ensure you can cover the costs of studying and living in Oxford. Start by visiting the University of OxfordÌý

If you are accepted into the BCL or MLF at Oxford University Law School, you do not pay tuition fees for the final 24UOC in electives needed to complete your JD. These fees are waived through the Degree Partnership program.Ìý

Students must arrange their own visas and accommodation. Accommodation is typically provided by the admitting Oxford College but can also be arranged privately. For more details, check theÌý

In order to receive academic credit for the program, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ students must completeÌý2 SU courses. The summer courses are undergraduate courses at either basic orÌý advanced levels.

Approval for credit transfer is at the discretion of the Faculty. Credit approval can only be given prior to the commencement of a Learning Abroad program - no retrospective requests will be accepted.

Eligibility

To be eligible for studies at SULaw, you must be nominated by ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ, and fulfill the academic requirements below:

• LLB students who have completed 72 UOC of LAW courses and JD students who have completed 78 UOC of JURD courses.Ìý
• To enrol in a course at basic level, students are expected to have completed at leastÌýone full yearÌýof studies in law prior to the program.
• For courses at advanced level, students should have completed at leastÌýtwo full yearsÌýof studies in law.

Students will study 24 UOC across four courses with varied assessment tasks, with a pass/fail final grade.

Courses are taught by leading teachers from top law schools in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa, and attended by students from across the world.Ìý

• JD students who have completed 72 UOC of JURD courses.

How and when to apply

Applicants will be assessed based on academic merit and a 500-word statement addressing select criteria.

Students who are selected will be enrolled in specific courses at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ:

• LAWS3670/JURD7670 Transnational Legal Studies A

• LAWS3671/JURD7671 Transnational Legal Studies B

Applications open in:Ìý

• October for the August-December intake, and

• February for the January-May intake.

Study costs

You do not need to pay additional tuition fees, though costs of living in London can be high. The CTLS itself estimates costs of living in London for a semester to be upwards of AUD 20k.

How it works:

Selected ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ students will follow the standard exchange application procedures for their first semester at HKU and apply for admission to the second LLM semester at HKU. The exchange semester at HKU runs from early September to mid-January (²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Term 3).

1. First Semester: ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ students are enrolled at HKU as exchange students in Master of Laws (LLM) courses. They must take an equivalent number and selection of courses to match the UOC needed to complete their ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ law degree.

2. Transition to LLM Program: After completing the exchange semester and confirming with ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Law & Justice that they have met the requirements for their ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ law degree, students can enrol in HKU’s Master of Laws (LLM) degree program in the following semester.

3. LLM Semester: Students must enrol in enough courses within HKU’s program so that the combination of the exchange semester and the LLM semester satisfies HKU’s requirements for completing the LLM degree. Upon successful completion, HKU will award the student the HKU LLM degree.

JD and LLB students must have:

• Completed all core courses
• Achieved a WAM of 70 or above
• 18-24 UOC left to satisfy the requirements of their ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ JD/LLB.Ìý

How and when to apply

1. Expression of Interest: contact the . Applications will be assessed on academic merit and ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Law & Justice will select up to 2 students each year.
2. Exchange Application: Complete theÌýÌýand submit your exchange application by the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Term 3 exchange deadline.
3. HKU LLM Application: Apply to the HKU LLM program by the relevant deadline.

Study costs

• Exchange Semester: ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ students are enrolled as non-award exchange students at HKU and pay their normal tuition fees to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ.
• LLM Semester: ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ students are enrolled as degree students at HKU and must pay their LLM fees directly to HKU.
